Bhature recipe/ How to make bhature

My earliest memories of chole bhature is of the one my father made for us at home on my birthday. I can never forget that aroma of chole and cripsy yet soft bhature. He is an awesome cook. And today, I am sharing bhature recipe with you. This version of my bhature is quick and delicious. Hope you will like it... :)

  • All purpose flour/Maida: 2.5 cups
  • Curd: 1 cup
  • Baking powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Baking soda: 1 pinch
  • Salt: 1 tsp
  • Oil: for frying

How to make bhature

  • Take a bowl and sieve all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt altogether.
  • Mix them well.
  • Now add curd to this dry ingredients mixture.
  • Mix well with hands.
  • After the curd is mixed add water (little at a time) and kneed soft dough.
  • The dough should be soft.
  • Apply little oil on dough and kneed again.
  • Cover this dough with a damp cloth.
  • Keep this dough aside for about half an hour.
  • After half an hour make small balls out of this dough and keep them aside for 5-10 minutes so that ball becomes soft.
  • Meanwhile, take a wok and heat sufficient oil for deep frying.
  • Now roll out the balls into circles like we make chapatis.
  • Deep fry in hot oil til bhaturas puff up and turn little golden in color.
  • Serve hot Bhature with chole and enjoy. :)

  • Dough for bhature should be soft not tight.
